Default A Little How Ya Doin'

    hello,

i am laserphobic, and new to the radar/laser world. i find this topic fascinating, and this forum the best of it's kind, which is why i joined.

in the coming months, i intend to put my license and good standing with my insurance company at jeopardy by purchasing a Nissan GT-R. at 55 i had believed i had outgrown "the need for speed" and in fact i have. as strange as it may seem for someone smitten with the high performance car bug, i don't care at all about smashing the guy in the car in the lane next to mine. i am not a mean man, so there is little interest on my part to own a "mean" car. i just want to experience (in moderation) the exhilaration of top tier acceleration, braking, and handling, so i am here to learn how best to mitigate as best i can the risk (to license and insurance rates) of owning a high performance car.

i hope to tackle this huge learning curve with the assistance of this forum and it's members, have fun, and not step on too many toes

According to his other post, he's in VA....... the only state in the USA where RDs are illegal.

Well, there's DC but that isn't a state per se...
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I personally woulda gone for the ZR1, but the GTR is still a very very badass car.

But if you are in VA, I think you might be screwed here. Getting an RD based on the specs you want is easy...unless their illegal. That is unless your willing to dish out $$$ on more expensive detectors and jammers...something I am unable to do.

    Happy hunting!
