Could be a number of guns. What color is it?
Most likely it's an LTI Ultralyte, which is black with blue trim.
The next most likely is the LTI TruSpeed, which is blue.
If it's white and gray, it's the Kustom PLIII.
There is also a very small chance that it is a Stalker LZ-1.
In my travels through Nor Cal seen mostly LTI TruSpeed, mostly on I-80 and I-680. LTI TruSpeed - Guys of LIDAR
Welcome to our forum
I've been shot with LIDAR by CHP a few times, but too far away and/or nighttime to see what gear he was running.
2010 Honda Civic Sedan
Cobra 19 DX IV CB
Wilson Lil Wil
Uniden BCT15X Scanner
Garmin Nuvi 1300
Saves: More than I can count
All I have ever seen them use is Truspeed or Ultralyte.
Just get the right jammers and you're set![]()
I saw them 4 times in one day, all 4 times it was the TruSpeed.
Welcome
The CHP "Academy Vehicle Code Radar Coordinator" actually returned my email. They are using Ultralyte and TruSpeed guns only. No specific model number was given. He also added:
"These are the two Lidar devices we use with the California Highway
Patrol. When the unit is deployed, the officer is trained to aim the
device at a reflective surface on the vehicle. The driver windshield is
not one of the better areas. The front of the vehicle makes for a
better reflective surface. I hope that this has answered your
questions. Drive safe"
