    Default Greetings from NY

    Hey guys

I bought myself a decently fast truck (jeep srt8) last year and I've been lurking on here occasionally since. I can have a bit of a lead foot, but thankfully I don't encounter many speed traps

I'm trying to sift through all the information and come to a decision on what to buy. Based on what I've read so far, I think I want to go with a Laser Interceptor

Still not sure yet... will keep reading and learning from all the great people who add all this information to the forum!

I forgot to add.. I travel along the i95/cross island/495 almost daily

A Long Islander eh? They use radar and laser on LIE and NSP/SSP. For the vehicle you have and the false alerts you will encounter I would recommend Bel Sti-R plus and LI quad. Radarbusters will hook you up.

Welcome to the forum from TX!

The Laser Interceptor is an awesome jammer.

Nice ride! How many MPG's do you get with the Jeep?

Welcome to the forum. Do you already own a radar detector? Laser Interceptoris an excellent laser jammer choice. Check out this thread for jammer mounting positions on your vehicle:

Just curious, what is your opinion on the new 2012 jeep srt8?

Hahahah upstatedoc is right!! Sometimes it feels that way... I waste a ton of gas just idling. The other day I started my truck and I got talking with my buddy and ended up burning a quarter tank of fuel. Otherwise I get about 12mpg with intermittent spirited driving.

It looks cool, that's for sure. I don't think I care for the new interior, perhaps I'll think differently after seeing it in person but it looks cheaper than the WK. There are some neat features with the WK2 that I want like adaptive cruise control but I'll never buy the first model year of a new platform. The 6.4L HEMI with MDS (for fuel economy) looks promising, but I'm weary of how MDS will fare on such a high HP engine. I think they have them on display at the auto show at javits, might go there this weekend and check it out.

X2 if you don't already have a radar detector and want a remote unit. If you want a windshield unit we would need more information on what you are looking for. The V1 and Redline are top performers but it all depends on what you are looking for.
