ideas for the next GoL laser shootout event

i personally think they should stop with the "most difficult scenario" jamming sessions because realistically what percentage of the people do you think are hooking up jammers to huge SUV's. very small and from reading the last tests with all the angles and such, it doesn't help the average user determine which jammer is best for their needs, its more of a scientific study on the extreme capabilities of the jammers.

also use the leo for only one set of runs to target the vehicles not all. kinda like last years test. use different shooters as well as a tripod. also equipt every gun with a camera as outrun pointed out in his vid, camera's are really needed through the scope to really determine whats going on.

for the next gol laser event they should do simple tests with vid's like outrun's with a 1.small size car like a focus, 2.a mid size sedan like an accord/camary or whatever is around, and a 3.suv such as the commander or a pickup. i think this type of information will be much more useful to people. just my 2 cents

We wanted to do them both on smaller cars and largers SUV's, we were going to test them out on my cavi as the other jammers were being installed.

However- I was late- and only got to test the JFG on my car with the AL

I agree about having 2 different cars or maybe 3. However! You are talking about HOURS of time. Everytime you add a new element you have to multiply that by the # of vehicles, then by the number of runs, then by the different angles.

As far as recording the runs on video its not really an option. I would like to see Outrun do maybe one video per vehicle per random jammer. There is no need to use a tripod unless its for video purposes. Being that the GOL use a certified LEO with 30+ years of experience, and TriPods are not common enforcement technique.

As long as this is a hobby, I'm paying my own expenses, & especially for myself I'm taking paid days of leave I'll welcome the ideas and while I agree with them you can only ask for so much. Finally no matter what you do, you cant please everyone.

It is nice to see worst possible case to really weed out performance of the units, and as someone mentioned in another thread its is a great way to see the difference between number the #1 and #2 rated jammers. And I think it is still a worthy test.

However I also agree that these worst case senerios then end up confusing consumers becuase the can not see the what units work for "real world" testing... a officer is not going to know that he is up against a jammer and decide to go pick off roof shots, etc.

As JTW and outrun have nicely shown, although not worst case but more real world. JTW showed that a single AntiLaser head will not be enough, outrun has shown that 2 AntiLaser units CAN protect a truck, and JTG each time.

We now understand that JTG results have been proven to be misleading as we know that nothing is fool proof, either overpass shots, or a vehicle in front of you blocking your jammers, etc.

So we know that practically no jammer is going to do well at worst case senerio, and it is nice to get to see that variation in performance at extreme circumstances, but then it make it difficult to see what really actually does work. I think a comprimise between the two versions of test from '05 and '06 would be a nice medium. The officer picking off roof shots was really a waste... now if he just aimed at center of mass windshield I think people would have better information to go by buying a jammer.

GOL has proved their point, extreme angle roof shots, your screwed! :wink:

BUT IF WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TESTING A DRIVESMART UNIT, I THINK IT IS FAIR TO SHOW NO MERCY AND TEST THE EVER LIVING PISS OUT OF THAT THING, NEIL AND ALL OTHER DS SUPPORTS RAVE ABOUT IT BEING IT THE BE ALL, SO LETS SEE!
