    Default Chrome on Grille

I was ordering a new vehicle (H3) and wanted to ask - do you think chrome brush guards on the front grill will reflect laser??
These are made from Tubular chrome??
So there is minimal FLAT surface and 2000 ft out they should spread the beam in diferent directions??
    THanks

Any reflection is BAD! Period! If you equip your H3 with a LI though, it won't matter how much chrome you have. Good luck.

If you can, I'd definitely go for a dual head diode system on that sucker.

    ^ +1.

And I know what many here think about The VEIL Guy, but regardless of such personal/"political" opinions, it is well worth pointing out that on a LIDAR testing scenario, it was discovered that even something as small and seemingly insignificant as a "whip" antenna (bare metal - thus, LIDAR "reflective") could cause higher-than-expected PTs.

Also, I agree with brother PMoth in that with sufficient "jamming power," it'll obliterate any amount of chrome that can be reasonably placed on a normal passenger vehicle.

^ To wit, one's also got to say that placement as well as exact vehicle hard-point/dimensions will have a lot to do with the capability of the AL/LPP duo to effect "JTG" performance, speaking solely of the front aspect of the vehicle, and with respect to using two heads.

Brother Mthman30, through very careful placement and quantitative testing, was able to achieve JTG performance with a dual AL setup on his rather large truck:

In the following thread, you can see how the two of us was able to hash-out some of the critical details, as well as express our different viewpoints, a well as agreements:

    http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...=27461&start=0

Just as firmly as I believe that for larger vehicles or for vehicles with excessive or difficult hardpoints up-front, a three-head AL/LPP setup is likely the best way to go (or a dual-head LI, of course), I think that whether that third head, center-mass/effective plate coverage, will be needed will depend a lot on the *specific* vehicle and its physical profile, and that this will require individual/unique quantitative testing.

Whether that testing is feasible/possible - or whether it's just easier (and financially possible) for that user to equip his/her vehicle with a 3- verusus 2-head setup......THAT, my friends, I believe, is the real question.
