Default Need a jammer, but don't know anything about them

My names is Willie I drive a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I just got my first traffic ticket a little less than a week ago. I do my share of speeding and really don't need to get pulled over. I have illegal tint as well as a few other things police don't look to kindly on.

So my question is what laser jammer should I buy? This is a new world to me and I tried to read reviews and other things but I don't understand have the information since I've never looked into these before. I just want to know what would work the best for me in my car. I live in the Portland Oregon area if that helps. I do a lot of back road speeding as well as highway. I'd really like something to help me out mainly at night and against cop cars coming head on at me with their radar on. Money isn't really an issue at the moment since I know I'll save money with a nice detector/jammer.

Do you guys even think I need a jammer? I do some racing as well as high speed runs on occasion. But other than that am kind of always speeding. Hard not to be atleast 10 over in my car.

    Thanks I appreciate the help.

Well a laser jammer will only jam laser guns.. It wont help with radar at all. So the only thing a laser jammer will help out with are the cops that sit on the side of the road with lasers. Depending on your state for example in my state just about all the motor cycle cops do traffic enforcement only and use lasers.

Welcome Willie in the jungle of counter-measures .

As many people will answer you , you will have different opinion
    on which brand do best.

    I will just tell you what I use : blinder m-20 dual head + Al-8 dual .

I installed one sensor blinder + one sensor Al-8 in the front.

    @ the rear = one sensor Al-8.

With the blinder , I never had problem due to water or bad connection , it could be not the best in jam performance compare to the more recent jammers , altough it does the job. Is is tough , well built , very reliable.

For the Al-8 , I had to exchange the 2 sensors under warranty , since then no other problem.

Go with your feeling , only experience will teach your exact needs

Do you guys know if the police will answer me if I call them up and ask what kind of laser/radar they use? I guess it's worth a shot either way.

So the advantages of a jammer is if you just don't want to slow down? Or to get rid of evidence that you were speeding since they don't have physical evidence?

We have a section here if you look around that will tell you what laser/radar are used in what states.

Honestly, just take a bit of time to do some reading/research.

Any of the current top-flight units have their pros and cons. And I *strongly* suggest that you pursue this issue after you've done proper homework, to insure that the choice you make will indeed fit YOUR specific end-needs, best.

The fifth post down (including OP) is my current stance on "what's the best jammer."

    There's just no easy "best."

After reading a fair amount I've decided on the V1.

If you talk to the police they may well have no idea what they're using.

Best bet is go with the V1 then start collecting "data points" for your other counter measures. If you're getting hit at night from oncoming radar the only solution I know of is to start using a rabbit car ahead of you. This "oncoming" scenario is serious trouble to detect on the interstate because even if you pickup scatter from a radar shot 3 miles ahead of you the closing speed between you and LEO is doubled so instead of 2 to 3 minutes warning you may only have 30 seconds or less.
