Default RED Color is Most Reflective **OST Video coming soon**

I was watching a video for training law enforcement radar and lidar operators stating that red color is the most reflective color. It was my understanding and impression that lighter colors say white was the most reflective color when it comes to use of laser. Just want to post it if someone have missed it. I may have missed a thread too before regarding this issue.

thestaton, you may need to change the color of your car.

    rofl... hahahaha

glad i got the black baby with the blacked out grill and fogged lights... very pro stealth cept i got hit at 890 feet easy. So I dont know how much I believe some of these statements.

I guess I would want to see a test where a car travels with a big panel completely in front of it of different colors on cars. They keep trying to laser it and see how far away it can pick it up. Then whichever it picks up farthest is the most reflective?

    I think I should be a scientist.

I am going by what jimbonzz said and red was a dark color considered for a car.

Silver or white is the most reflective colors because they are lightest

That was what I read and understood. But Ohio State Trooper technical expert said otherwise that red was the most reflective color and black was the least reflective. The video covered how radar and lidar works. Very good info stuff from the video.

Even found out that when 2 vehicles at the same distance from the center of the radar beam and running at the same speed will not be clocked by radar. I need to try and see it if it really does.

True silver is highly reflective, but it's the hardest to make a visual on from a distance.

Silver may be the most reflective color to visible light, but not necessarily to the 904nm infrared light that lidar uses.

A red car reflects more long wavelength light than a blue car, so it would make sense that a red car would be more lidar-reflective as well.

Of course, red is a highly visible color to a LEO's eyes as well... and a color that a lot of "fast" cars come in.

This makes sense guys because Staton and Jimbonzzz have Trans ams (Jimbonzzz's is black Staton's is red) and while Jimbonzzz had LOW PT's even without a jammer on Staton was getting over 800' PT's with THREE LPP heads!

I always thought white and red were the most reflective. Well, at least that's what I saw with a red laser pointer. Then again, there is big difference between 600 and 900 nm light.
