The Future of Laser Jammers

Whats everyones opinion on the future of these systems? Do you think they will be illegal everywhere eventually? If so, how long do you think? 5, 10, 20 years? Will the parking sensor of this type be illegal aswell?

I ask this because I plan on buying a jammer soon, whenever the 08 GOL comes out, but I wonder how long things like this will be around. Is it any different from Radar jammers? They both interfere with police activity, so won't laser jammers eventually suffer the same fate?

You thoughts on this would be great.

Laser Jammer is legal until further notice.

Radar Jammer are illegal anywhere in the United States.

The reason laser jammers are not illegal (in most states) is becasue laser is regulated by the FDA whereas radar jammers are regulated by the FCC. For some reason, this allows radar jammers to be prohibited but not laser jammers.

I'm not sure whether this is likely to remain the way it is. But I doubt that anyone really cares enough to make a huge push to outlaw laser jammers (could be difficult to do becasue of the FDA thing). The reason is that there are very few people using them. And as long as costs remain as high as they are it will remain that way. Even radar detectors, which are relatively cheap compared to laser jammers, are only used in about 6% of vehicles (Columns: World's Greatest... Radar Detectors).

kind of related, kind of not...what happens in VA, etc when you get caught with an RD? Are the cops allowed to search if they suspect you have one in the car?

Couple thoughts here....

1) speeding is illegal too so WTF? Why you so worried?

2) this is why is so important not to JTG even in LEGAL areas!!!!
