    Default LPP Fails!

Ok, I don't expect infalliblity, but...

I was lasered today by a rather cute looking Leo-ette, all blond and everything, and my V1 goes off to announce I'm getting laser, but my LPP doesn't go off.

I was going the psl through this will known radar trap, but it surprised me that LPP didn't do it's thing.

Till now, I've been targetted 4 times on the highway, and had definite saves on 3 of them. No doubt, those times, I was farther away when targeted.

Here also, there is a gentle bend in the road, arcing to the right, and Leo-ette was on the inside of the arc. I was unable to upload the google earth photo to photobucket to share with you, but it's a pretty gentle curve, looking at it. Could be "off axis", but that would be surprising.

Another factor is the road is coming down hill. Again, a gentle slope.

I notice the LPP's relatively crap performance against 100pps guns. Are these laser guns common in North America? Canada?

Anyone have any idea what the h3ll happened?

The First thing you need to establish is if you have the 100pps upgarde

Second of all the LPP owns the 100pps gun with the revised CBox (Its actually easier to jam a 100pps UL than a 125pps UL so i believe)

Third thing refers to the first to check if you have the 100pps upgrade check how many flashes it takes to run into permanent mode AFAIK its 12 flashes on a 100pps box and 23 or so on a non-100pps box.

Believe me that gun is lethal if you've the old firmware :O ..I was lasered back a few months ago (I knew he was there) and the rx65 scremed LASER ALERT but the LPP stayed quiet. I was like WTF so i go onto KMPH and sent back the contoleer box to be upgraded to a cbox. I didn't realise how important the update was until last week when i had a rear save -v- 100pps !!!!!!!!!!!
Mousie should field any questions you have on this matter

    ^ +1.

Also, check your mounting level/aim, too.

And, of-course, check that the head is still operational, as well as clean!

Good tips, guys. I confirmed,as soon as I got to my destination, that it was operational, as far as parking sensor mode goes (I'm sure that guy didn't mind me parking up his tail pipe like that).

I'm pretty sure I have the 100pps upgrade, as that was discussed when I had to send it back, but I'll check as described.

Delgar, this was the spot heading West on 16th Ave going down the hill into Montgomery. It's an all too familiar fish-in-a-barrel location. Speed changes from 70k to 50 k, and they wait by the cross walk.

I wonder if it's possible if the V1 just picked up scatter and you where never targeted?

Good point staton.....being how I am partially responsiblie for Brent having a LPP I contacted mouse....

May I add once again i don't even think it's 6am there and within 5 minutes I had an email back!!!!!!

Mouse confirmed all LPP boxes since May 2007 have the upgrade......

I will also add i have been absoloutely floored by the V1's ability to pick up scatter......

^ Very good point - and I can't believe I missed this one!

Honestly, this is *very* possible. Particularly with such a sensitive laser detector as the V1, and even more so if the detector is high-mounted and in optimal position to see scatter, reflections, and down-road painting of other vehicles.

Even with my 9500i, I've had this experience.

Doc, what's your physical LPP setup like (how many heads, where are they placed, etc.)? Could it have contributed to perhaps the jammer not "seeing" the scatter/etc.?
