I just ordered a replica plate for the back of my car to try and improve rear targeting. I'll be putting veil on the rear lights too. I think passive countermeasures can certainly work after seeing the performance on the A8. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do about the front aside from getting the front passenger side head lined up a bit better. From what I've read VEIL does not apply to 3M clear shield very well and I have that on the headlights and fogs. :(

I don't know what state you are in, but I hope you have better luck with a replica plate than I did. I first ordered the plastic one, and later the metal one and both were not close enough. Waste of money in MA.
I read on Mass Cops that they even give people a hard time if they repaint their official, but faded green MA plate (so they don have to turn them in for the red two plate ones).
Unless your replica is exact, I would not chance it. Just get the laser shield. It should be adequate as is. I have not veiled mine, but with my LI PMoth could not get any punch throughs with several different guns.
With a laser shield your plate will still be very legible and you will have better chance convincing a cop (other than one running a laser gun who may know better) that the plastic is just cosmetic with no evil intent

I know the one for CT I saw last weekend looked very good. I run a body color license plate frame as well so it will hide the sharp edges. I know it isn't finished well in that respect.
I noticed on LI's website, they have a special "HP" version of their jammers. Do these really make a significant difference and did any of these test involve one of those since it didn't actually say "HP" in the info?
I doubt there were any HP's at the test.
The HP's were designed to protect big trucks, RV's and the like. That's why I just put a set on the rear of the Vette.:D

Actually has nothing t do with hurricane's. When I first got internet service and email some 20 years ago I had just started racing bicycles. So I picked my bicycle racing classification (category4) as my email address. I've just stuck with it over the years since that's how all my friends know my email.Quote:

Yes as for the tropical storm part a lot of people thought they had been passed by a hurricane when I sprinted past at the finish line.:D
