    Question They think it's broken?

I have been trying to test my new M27 using real LEO's, but every time I try this, something unexpected happens: The LEOs leave.

    Here's what happens.

    The test:

I am assuming the LEO with the laser will paint my car as I approach until he get's a reading. This should mean that both the M27 and the RD will continue to sound an alert until he gets a reading. The more difficult the reading, the longer the alert.

By making two passes, one with the jammer on and one with it off, I should get an idea of how effective the jammer is as opposed to using only the Veiled headlights and otherwise naked car.

    Execution

    First pass - Jammer on
Laser alert for about 9 seconds. At this point I kill the jammer because in another couple of hundred feet I will be close enough to shake hands with the officer. Success!

    Second Pass - Jammer off
I go around the block and attempt another pass, but now the officer is nowhere to be found. Why?

This has happened twice so far. Are the officers leaving because they somehow have gotten the idea that they have a broken laser? Is it maybe a tactical move to prevent the public from memorizing their position? Maybe they suspect what I am up to and want to make sure they arent helping me?

What in the world is happening here?

no usually they got gave enought tickets at that spot or they get tired of not catchin anyone for a while or have a call. i did that a few times, but most of the time by the time i swing back again, they got someone or left already. i know u should do that though. dont give aa reason for the officer to pull u over for.

Maybe because even THEY are sick of your ?

Never test your jammer against a police officer running traffic enforcement for 3 reasons (OR WITH ANY LEO honestly):

1)It lets them know that you have jammers and if installed correctly:

    2) If your jamming for ~9-seconds he KNOWS something is wrong: Most all cars give back instantaneous readings when shot. Sometimes a minor delay (usual a bad shooter) of up to a couple (err: few) seconds is possible... so he knows something is 'fishy' with your car.

    3) Just because LEO "x" doesn't pwn your set-up doesn't mean that no officer will. To get a true idea of weak-spots in your set-up it must be thoroughly tested against a gun using various runs looking for trouble-areas. So just because a rook doesn't have a clue how to shoot his lidar, doesn't mean some like Fritter won't own you all-day-every-day. (-Let alone some of the crack-shot lidar snipers we have here to test against).

never test your unit against an LEO. Get it properly tested at a countermeasures meet-up from members on here...

    [/harsh rant]

-Sorry for being so 'cruel', but doing exactly what your doing is what ruins jammers for everyone.

x2 on everything AirMoore said. Do a ton of more reading man...READ THE STICKIES...don't jam cops all the way to their car...you jam them until you get to the PSL (Which should be as humanly as possible) then turn the jammer off so they get a reading...what you are doing is making more cops annoyed, they will whine about jammers to the higher ups and you will get jammers banned in your state.

Don't take this as us being assholes to you, we are trying to help you. Search for members in your area who would be willing to meet up and test your setup. Don't test it on the cops.

X2 on replies posted here. No good comes from this type of real world "testing" by using LEOs as unknowing particpants.

Also it tells you nothing!! You have no idea if he got PT or not, when he got PT if he did, or what he was aiming at.

Save this stuff for testing. Only then will you be able to determine how well your system is performing. Playing with LEO's is bad JuJu!! It's going to lead to trouble, either a trumped up charge for you to pay thousands to defend against or laws banning jammers in your state.

Quit messing things up for the rest of us. LEO's are not stupid, if nothing else you are training him on how to defeat your system!!

There are enough members here from Florida with lidar guns that you can get your system tested if you really want, so don't whine about you have no way to test it.

I have taken you guys advice and have stopped testing this way. At this point, I know that my jammers are at least working better thank a pair of bricks. Based on what you're saying, that is about the best I can hope for from this.

I am also thinking about setting the auto shutoff back to 7.5 seconds, though this even seems like more than enough time in most situations. By now I'm getting comfy with the off switch too.

I'm looking forward to getting my setup tested at an event. It looks like a fun day out with a possible road trip to boot.

Also, thanks to all of you who were not insulting in your comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The positive approach is always well received, and IMO makes this forum better for everyone.

Leave the switch where you control it, the timer starts when it's first hit and then times even if the source signal goes away. You do not have to have 7 continuous seconds of lidar to have the timer time out.

It's possible with the timer to get a short blip of scatter, ignore it because it was a blip and you do not see the LEO and then 7 seconds later get popped by the LEO and your jammers are OFF!!!!

    To answer this question;
I think the LEO had found a customer meanwhile (or just end of his shift..)
