    Default Re-doing VEIL installation

I have taken everyone's suggestions from a previous post to heart, as even now I admit it looked TOO dark. I have read other posts about what would be the best thing to use to remove my old VEIL. Veil Guy suggests rubbing alcohol and household ammonia. Others have suggested 91% or higher alcohol. Is this 91% alcohol the same as the denatured alcohol one would find at Home Depot or a paint store? Which would work best? I have removed most of it with just Windex and rubbing alcohol, but I still have really dark blue spots with streaks. Any sugestions out there???

I think that the denatured alcohol you get at the hardware store is the right stuff, although you should TRY to find a container that lists the actual percentage. Mix that with ammonia and you'll be in great shape.

And if nothing else works...there's always wetsanding! (or Goof Off if you have glass headlights)

I believe that alcohol is different it is found in the pharmacy section of most stores, reg alcohol is like 70% and 30% water. I would first try the 90% alcohol then go to ammonia.

From my limited experience I'd stay away from AMMONIA. And the back says don't mix with anything...

seriously though, I have my old 2-piece of plastic chrome grill on my Ford Fusion that I replaced with my Street Scene mesh insert and I'd like to experiment on it and would like to know what's the best solution for removal too...

I haven't had a chance to try 91% alcohol (or ammonia any more concentrated than Windex) but I did find that the Goof Off worked great for removing Veil from chrome. Just don't try it on plastic headlights as I can't vouch for the safety of that.

Well, I have tried denatured alcohol, I have tried straight up ammonia, even BLEACH - and nothing is taking the blue stain off of my headlights. The VEIL itself is off, however there headlights seem to have gotten stained. What other options do I have? At this time I am running my STi sans (without) VEIL G4, and want to reapply as soon as possible without it looking either crappy, too dark, or both. Does anyone have any suggestions??? HELP!!!!

JDS, what about using clear Lamin-X and applying a thin layer of VEIL on that?
