Does anyone know if LEOs are using POP in NOVA?
I want to know if I should upgrade my V1 to get their new POP protection.

To the best of my knowledge there is no POP in Virginia. Virginia law enforcement purchases most of their stuff from Kustom Signals and a few places purchase from Stalker (Applied Concepts). I'm very certain there are no MPH radar guns in Virginia. MPH Industries is the only radar gun maker that has POP and it's only on 4 of their models.Originally Posted by Fractal
One way to know if MPH is in your area is if you have a Beltronics or Escort detector in frequency display mode. If you see 33.8 Ka frequency and CONFIRM it's source is from law enforcement then you have MPH Ka guns in the area but this doesn't mean they have the POP model, it means they could have that model.
^what he said............very doubtful.
Kustoms radar is by far the most common in NOVA with some stalker units here and there. I wouldn't worry about the POP units too much.
Doesn't D.C. use speed radar, however? The V1's Euro mode detects that, doesn't it (although I know speeding in D.C. is next to impossible due to all the red lights and traffic)?
DC has Gatso K band speed cameras. Don't forget about the U.S. Park police, they use radar and have jurisdiction all over DC as well as the George Washington Memorial Parkway.
DC gatso's are just regular K band, nothing special about them. Your V1 will pick them up just fine.
USPP like to use laser too. Recently I got hit with laser by USPP on Rt. 210 in MD.
