Default Road trip: FL to WI who uses X band?

I have a long road trip coming up and I need to know what states to turn X-band on.

(I had an X-band save in NC a few months ago. Glad I knew they still used it.)

Which way are you going? I run I-75 between Forsyth to Valdosta on a regular basis and I'd say you're 99.9% safe.

I keep X on with the V1 and X off on the RX75 and have never had a "real" X band threat on any Ga. Interstate.

I have been tagged with C/O X band in some small towns off the beaten path though... I think it's mostly small/poor departments running outdated equipment.

From 2004-2007 I cannot recall any X saves on I95 between FL and DC (1 trip to DC and like 10 to FL). There may have been 1 or 2 but I cannot recall them. Now, this is just anecdote, I would still turn it on in states where it is "in use". Most of my X band saves came in rural areas of NC... and there were a lot on the little NC states routes. If you stay on I95 though.. you probably won't see any. But like I said.. if you are not 100% sure its not in use... I would leave it on, and just treat them like falses unless you see a really indicative ramp-up.

Thanks for the replies. I will be taking 75. My NC save was in a little town on my way to the tail of the dragon. (can't even remember the town)

Ohio, keep x band on. Indiana, keep x band on. Various parts of Illinois and Wisconsin.

I agree, also down south I personally would worry about a county or local using and old X-band gun on the interstate.

Surprisingly I was hit with X band a few weeks back on a speed trap set up on I75 heading southbound to 826. FHP was setup on an overpass and chase vehicles were below, all with customers. This was about 2 weeks back and I don't think I've ever been hit with X band before that. Then again, I used to have a V1 with X band off to keep it quiet haha.

Although I remember reading it isn't legal to ticket in FL via Xband, I keep it on just in case.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry, there is no way FHP is using X-band guns. Especially a hand held one.
My guess is that you received an X-band 'false" near the bridge and the actual FHP officer was shooting Laser.
FHP, especially in Dade County, is very well equipped with the latest and greatest Ka and Laser equipment.
Sorry to sound dickish, but I think you misinterpreted the event. I would pay money to see a legitimate Florida X-band radar trap on video.

I definitely understand your point, I wasn't 100% sure the X hit was directly linked to the FHPs, just two events that coincided with each other. Other possible explanation is that since my 9500ix is mounted high, it didn't pick up a laser hit, or I wasn't targeted to begin with. Leaving only the false X alert to come through.
