Default I-87 trip to Hunter Mountain from Long Island NY w/Redline

    Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know I'm at Hunter mountain now after driving up here around 7pm. Got here around 9pm.

Encountered 2 c/o Ka band singals from 2 NYS Troopers. One had a customer and the spec on the Redline was 34.7 Ka Band. I drove up and around a hill and the ramp up scared the living crap-o-la out of me.

The other was the same but I couldn't see the LEO. The Ka band was screaming for a long time at the same spec but it was so dark out couldn't see him at all. I was looking for the reflective tape off his car but couldn't see anything.

I'll report back after the trip is done.

btw, this is my beater car. Took it cause of all the snowboarding crap, etc. I didn't have time to install the LI Dual and the other V1 hardwire. When the weather gets warmer, I'll look into it.

    Jake,
THanks man. I wanted to get the V1 up there but you know the weather doesn't play right with us now. I'll have all my cars with hardwire, etc and the beater with the LI's.

    Frenzy,
I'm just a beginner boarder and the deal Hunter has is incredible. 3 beginner lift tickets, 3 lessons, and 3 rentals for 109.00 including tax. Can't beat it. Plus I'm bringing some friends who are trying it out as well too. Killington is the mountain I want to goto though.

On the way home just got onto I-87(southbound) around 430pm....

As soon as I was going, c/o Ka band, 34.7 for a good 1/2 mile at full strength. Look down the road, NYSP with a customer.

3 miles later, same thing but the LEO was chasing someone who passed him. The car was exiting and he lit it up before he got off the exit.

3 more miles after, c/o Ka band, 34.6 going my way with a customer.

All quiet on the way home. No laser to be heard from the Redline or other NYS Troopers to be seen.

Nice time snowboarding but a friend broke his wrist. Other than that a good time.

I work at Windham. Got 26 days in of skiing, and have a broken thumb/ torn ligament. Hasn't stopped me from staying from the slopes. I can let you know of all the spots on 23 to watch for. :-) PS Killington is really nice, got a buddy who works there, and got $29/day mid-week tickets. :-P Be jealous!

I go up to hunter/winham almost every weekend to snowboard. I usually go from brooklyn, fdr, cross over to nj, then straight up the thruway to 23.

I'm always going with people who are beginners, so my girl and I have gotten pretty good at coaching people if you want some pointers next time we're up on the slopes.

I just got back from killington and the dew tour they had up there. Pretty badass, first day I was there, some places had almost 2ft of powder to board through.

Keep this alive for updated traps.
