    Default Fellow Californians! Chime in!

Trying to get a feel for if CHP is running a program right now...

I've noticed an infinite jump in enforcement around LA for speed lately. I say infinite because it was at zero for 2-3 weeks. It didnt not matter what time of day, which day, or where. I saw no enforcement, nor even any CHP with customers. I've even been out of my neck of the woods into LA and saw nothing.....

This week alone, I've seen 8 customers, and watched 2 get nailed with Tru Speeds. In 4 days. Today on my way to school, I watched a LEO park his car, get out with a Tru Speed, take 2-3 readings, then get back in his car to chase down his victim. He was there at most 15 seconds!

Have any of you guys seen the same this last week? Or is just locally because of the newly expanded freeway opened up this week?

CHP has gone crazy in the last couple months. I've been getting hit with radar and lidar left and right. A week and a half ago, I got paced by a CHP that came out of nowhere and slapped me with a ticket. I see CHP hiding all up and down the highway with Lidar, and out in the country with radar.

CHP Rabbit Hunting Season is officially open.

In my travel through NorCal I've seen a little bit more activity than normal, but nothing substantial, I don't travel to SoCal very often though.

This huge step-up of enforcement is still going on in LA. Be extra careful, especially on surface streets - they're around practically every corner right now.

I also have noticed a lot of CHP activity lately. The carpool lane has been lit up between San Diego and North County San Diego. I got hit by laser for the first time in the carpool lane by a bike cop (only 9500ix at the time). I have been getting strong Ka near I-15 and a north county underpass all the time lately. So much that I thought it was a false (every day it was there). For kicks I took a work friend on the carpool lane after lunch just in time to get a Ka alert and see the CHP pulling away from a hiding spot to pull over a speeding Mercedes. He must sit there every day at lunch time.

Just finished my Blinder M47 install this weekend so I am looking for anyone with a laser gun(s) willing to run a few tests. I'll drive pretty far north to make it happen. Also, I can be very discreet for those sensitive to having info on the web. PM if you can help.

I've been seeing lots of CHP on I-280, from Sand Hill Road all the way to the Lawrence Expressway exit. They hit both directions in the morning and afternoon. They're using laser about 90-percent of the time now. They're really trying out new hard to spot hiding spots too! There was one a few weeks ago, and he had his cruiser backed INTO some bushes, on the inside portion of an on-ramp. :/

Now that's funny... Palo Alto vs San Deigo - only about 475 miles away! Same distance as Alexandria VA to Columbia SC.... I love California's size. (And that's only 2/3rds of the way)

Lawrence Expressway - my old digs from high school days...

I have noticed laser use go from near zero in SF Bay Area / NorCal just a couple of years ago to encounters every trip through town, including I-680 corridor. I also see them now going up into the Sierra foothills to Magra / Gold Run.

At least CHP cuts you some slack with over PSL, unlike the Barney Fife Club in Utah.

Seems like it might be isolated to the LA area. Down here in the OC its status quo most of the time. Thanks for the heads up~

I think there has been even more in the Ventura County area...usually from on the 101 from Ventura County to LA there usually aren't that many CHP cruisers, but there have been more and more...

Last week, on the way to LA, I saw 1 cop sitting on an onramp with forward facing on the other side, on my side there was a cop running radar on the left lane, then approximately .5 miles ahead of that cop was another cop on the right side running laser.... not to mention seeing another two with customers...jeez. Who knows how many I may have missed though since I wasn't running a RD at the time..

It has been intense lately and it makes me nervous not having a radar detector right now (I sold my RX65 last weekend and my V1 isn't here yet).. At least I'm in San Diego without a car but boy I'm scared to go home!
