Saw a white Camaro unmarked car had somebody pulled over near the I-5/I-405 interchange in lynwood around exit 179.

I know exactly what your talking about. My dad often sees it out there on his commute to/from work. I've seen it once, coming from everett (N bound). I also have been pulled over by one of the honda v6 accords. It was forest green, brand new 04, 5% tint, and hidden so well, you cant see it unless they are on (Being the victim, I got to see this first hand).

whats the difference between radar and lidar?
RD's can detect both right? (i am assuming so, but wanna make sure)

Most cops are not punks. Have some respect. Many are just responding to the complaints of residents about "punks" screaming through there streets.

Lots of good info on this site about radar and lidar. In short, radar bounces a large radar pulse and measures the return. It far more complicated, really. Lidar uses laser and can target a specific vehicle. Again, I'm not doing these deep topics justice, keep reading in the main forums. Most detectors can detect both types, some better than others.

WA folks - kpatz has a sticky thread at the top of the bands reported in different cities. WA is quite light, I just sent him an update for Redmond. If all of us send him an update of the bands encountered in different cities you've travelled thru, that would help us all.

i see one of those everytime i go over to my girlfriend's house (luckily cops r never on that road). it shoots K (confirmed)
i would be able to post more stats, but i have a cobra esd 7000 currently (trying to save up for a x50) and the cobra is very falsy, but i have seen a dark blue suv w/ police written on side when i-405 (luckily i was only going 65 (in a 60))) that was shooting K

q1: how long does it take police to get a reading w/ ka when they are about 100 feet away? (q2: they are able to use that when driving too, correct?)

Tonight I was headed west bound on highway 522 just a few miles out of Monroe and K goes off. It steadily climbs then suddenly laser goes off, twice. Just to the right there is LEO standing next to his car shooting LIDAR. Looks like he left his radar on!!

Worst part was, the traffic was so heavy speeds were at or below the posted speed.

These guys are normally very good. I guess not all of them remember to shut thier radars off.
