Just bought an x5o passport I will be installing it on a zzr 1200 kaw .As detectors are illegal in Ontario I must do a stealth mount,will be powering up thru my emergency flashers switch,any suggestions would be appreciated

keep the hazard Switch :shock: you can find a beter switch then that

the main problem is not the switch ... is too hide your detector well or even beter a quick disconnect and put it in your pocket

I was planning on the hazzard switch because I could kill power quickly to the unit,in case of RDD,do I need to worry about that in Ontario?

yes of course Ontario is the province who have the more Spectre (RDD) :?

also if you disconnect the emergency switch.. your car might not pass the Annual inspection.. If your Province Requires one..

We don't have the inspections for bikes ,good thing too as I seem to have lost my catz and emissions.I've been playing with the X50 in the map section of a tank bag with a map covering it and using ear plugs.I could mount it under my headlights in the fairing ,but then wouldn't I have to cut the fairing so it could work?

The problem with stealth mounts is to maintain the Laser detection capability and in Ontario you need it given the amount of Lidar thats out there. I've also used the map section of a tank bag with ear plugs. As long as there is a line of site from the dectector down the road the laser detection will work.

You may want to use a mount employing industrial velcro to facilitate a quick removal of the RD. Spectre is more of threat outside urban centres given the number of falses.

You should also invest in a can of Veil to reduce your reflectivity to the Lidar. A motorcycle headlight is a great reflector.

I was in Canada a few years ago and I used the velcro method. The other thing I carried with me was an older detector that I wouldn't mind
loosing if I got caught. I could slip the Escort into my Aerostitch quite quickly. I never got caught but I was prepared just in case.
