i test it already , helmet needs protection or stronger jammer. we test with different guns, the weakness point is helmet. since they test with one head upfront ,laser guns change and if the laser point is wide more chances to get weakness spots easy.
veil the helmet is not big deal , airbrush do the job.

ok ,to be clear on this , i look close to my helmet and has a design that has 1/8 metalic-silver lines all around the helmet surface, is exactly like when u paint kandy and u put the metalic base .so i think is very reflactive plus has white in front /and top design, 2 thin coats of veil , cover with 2 of clear coat should be what it needs.
    that`s the type of helmet

you are wrong, we just test that in Houston (sunday 2.15.09). i have on my audi airbrush veil , like 8 light coats , and 2 coats of clear coat. and i did better than last time when Stealth Stalker test my set up in dallas. this time when he was in Houston he got me with 100-150 ft less than last time , and in few runs i jtg all 3 guns we use for test (zr3 / veil) i use dupli-color clear coat . and also i just finish my helmet the one above with 3-4 light coats of veil airbrush plus 2 light coats clear coat with airbrush too , just spray the can in jar and it works. the helmet is not so shiny and is kind of gray , but at my speed color and shine is the last thing i am thinking. hope to test the bike soon , i am still behind with my wiring.
in clip i try to shoot the headlights , was just a run to have it on video , wasn`t actually the test, but i plan next time to get a better video.

    VEIL HELMET , DONE!
looks good to me , is satin look instead of high gloss. i use 1500 wetandry sandpaper fallow by polish/buff with platiX paste , clean the helmet , and airbrush 4 light coats of veil and 2 airbrush light coats clear coat .

But does it cut down the PT's? That is the ultimate question.

i am new around here , don`t know what PT is . all i know is when the laser will hit the helmet wouldn`t be too much laser back to get the reading. a little by little helps. we do plans some more laser test in houston and hope to tape some of motorcycle/veil helmet tests to see the results, so far if the helmet has silver, white or reflective in it would give the speed right away. when they test that bike in arizona they didn`t shoot the helmet, plus is more than 18 inch from jammer ....

I guess I assumed you Veiled the helmet because it was reflective enough to send some of the beam back to the gun for a speed reading, despite the jammer.

(A PT is a 'punch through'. Imagine a big bubble around you, and when the laser beam is too much for the jammer head, or its out of reach for the jammer head, or, I don't know the heads over heating and shutting off, anything that would would allow the laser beam to reflect back to the gun, is considered a pun-through.)

So, I was wondering if 1) the head was leading to punch throughs (resulting in speed acquistion) and 2) if Veiling the helmet (with clear coat) helped reduce or eliminate PT's.

yes , the jammer lead to pt for sure , but again the jammers wasn`t mount for good and level, just by eye , plus i should adjust them when i am on bike because the front fork get`s lower when i ride so the jammer heads should be level with me on bike.
from what i see at my car headlights after airbursh veil plus clear coat was better than foam /veil only.
my project goes better i short the jammer wire and add some phone plugs at end , plan to do the jackets and inside helmet warning.

got some progress today , i finish my helmet warning system , i run the lasermask speaker and the red led from escort x50 in the helmet via a ph plug with 4 wires.
will be easy to attach/remove with velcro , so i can use it with both helmets.
