Okay, I am getting the idea that the recommendation here is to avoid this RD. I saw that it was given a decent review on the sales side of this site; is it possible that you just got a bad unit. I really like the packaging of this unit would the Whistler 3450 or 3500 be a better choice considering these desires?

Thanks for doing this. I have been considering the Cruisader. I really like the remote head style of detectors.
Performance is not a real big concern. However, it needs to be at least fair. I am one of those people for whom the RD is more of a toy and a reminder to check my speed.
Like I said, the remote head is a big feature to me, along with the external temp. However, it needs to also work for it's intended purpose.
or would really be a lot better off with a portable RD, like the bell or escort, and a HARD. I don't like the portable units because it is something I would have to fuss with when I get off the bike, even for short stops. I also would like volts and temperature displayed.

Question 1: "really be a lot better off with a portable RD, like the bell or escort, and a HARD."
Answer- if you don't want a ticket that would be my recommendation.

Question 2: "I don't like the portable units because it is something I would have to fuss with when I get off the bike, even for short stops."
Answer - Me also! That's why I dropped several hundo on the thing .. The remote setup was perfect for staying looow key with the fuzz, they don't cut breaks to dudes with "rader detecters" on their 150hp rocket bikes ....

"I also would like volts and temperature displayed."
Yeah that was cool ...almost was going to keep it on for that reason, plus the blue display and flashing blue LED looked cool at night.

A-Town --->all the rest ...many PM's about wanting this, why? But it is going on ebay for a buck starting bid ...I’ll post the link ...soon!

I prefer my Escort over my buddies Cruiseader too. Everywhere we ride, the Escort seems to outperform the Whistler. The Whistler is a nice set-up, but it would be great if it performed on par with the Escort.

I'll stick to my X50, even though it can be a hassle taking it off everwhere I go.

I have a Blinder 20 head mounted where you put the radar antenna. I also use an Escort 8500 mounted on the windshield (Goldwing). I can usually hear the Escort with it's volume cranked up even with my full face helmet.

That mounting setup is so easy and cheap ..I really don't no why everybody doesn't do it that way.

    Update
I installed the cruisader antenna mid screen on an '04 gsxr1k ...I am waiting for the guy to tell me what he thinks.
