Police to crack down on illegal radar detectors

New South Wales police are trialing new technology to catch drivers who have illegal speed camera detection devices in their cars.
Highway patrol cars have been fitted with radars that will identify drivers using illegal detectors.
Police Minister David Campbell says the new technology will help make the state's roads safer.
"In 2007 we had a record low number of deaths on roads in New South Wales. Police want to continue to drive that road toll down and they will use this equipment as part of their road safety initiative," he said.
