Prince George's Co. Council OKs speed cameras

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Speed cameras will soon be watching drivers in Prince George's County. The Prince George's County Council voted 8-0 Tuesday to adopt a speed camera program.
The cameras are expected to be installed and turned on in January.
Maryland's new speed camera law allows for the devices in school zones all across the state.
Drivers caught going 12 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit will get a $40 fine in the mail.
There will be a 30-day warning period before any fines are sent out.
