UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Speed cameras will soon be watching drivers in Prince George's County. The Prince George's County Council voted 8-0 Tuesday to adopt a speed camera program.
The cameras are expected to be installed and turned on in January.
Maryland's new speed camera law allows for the devices in school zones all across the state.
Drivers caught going 12 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit will get a $40 fine in the mail.
There will be a 30-day warning period before any fines are sent out.

Someone needs to get a petition started and get this on a ballot. Seriously this needs attention fast. This state is getting worse than AZ.

Maryland Speed Cameras

Yea hopefully something gets done soon. I will definitely not be voting to put any of these ***holes back in office who voted for the cameras, nor will any of the people that I know who I have shown this site to in MD.

Good. More speed cameras means they can lay off traffic cops. If I have to get a ticket I'd rather have a ticket from a speed camera than from a cop. I think it is funny places are laying off traffic cops after speed cameras are installed. It just provides more proof that speeding tickets are for revenue, not for safety.
