Maryland's highest court decides that police in Montgomery County, MD must pay speedcam tickets they get, even while on duty in their cruisers, unless they can prove they were responding to an emergency call (basically lights & siren on).

. If the ticket were simply dismissed, the taxpayer's are out the 25-50% that the city gets to keep (most states get a percentage). This way, the taxpayer is out the full 100% invoiced, less whatever the city normally keeps..
