Switched back from a 9500ix!
Hey guys,
I had a V1 for almost 5 years and was intrigued by all the features I heard about the 9500ix with what was supposed to be equal range. Sold the V1 and got the 9500ix. After locking out 2 LEO's, and feeling like almost every alert is I/O, the 9500ix is going on eBay and I just installed a new 3.872 V1 today :)
It's great to be back! I missed the arrows and the ramp up.

Welcome back. The V1/M27 combo is the most solid RD/LJ setup for under $1K IMO.

:thumb2: Welcome back to the good side. You really don't come to appreciate the V1 fully until you use another RD and feel lost without the arrows.

I believe you are making the right move. In the GOL test results the IX didn't do very well.

This makes me feel better choosing the VT over the 9500xt.. Welcome back

I think you might need to go through a hazing period first, maybe a week with a Cobra.........then come back :D
Re: Switched back from a 9500ix!
I used my V1 a week ago when I went on a business trip. It was awesome on the highways, but when I got to Ann Arbor/Detroit I wanted the IX back. If I wasn't so afraid of someone stealing my detectors hidden in my car (especially around Detroit) I would have brought both of them. If I lost a V1 and a IX, I would have to take a week off work to grieve. :) And then work alot of overtime to get them back.

I guess I share your enthusiasms. After my 8500 X50 broke, I went with the 9500i because it was on sale in Best Buy. But i felt a little disapointed with its performance. The range wasnt there compared to my old X50. So i decided to try the V1. Purchased it two weeks ago, and all i can say is that VR has a new customer for life. I no longer have to be looking around to see where LEO's are, I know from the get go with the help of the arrows and the ramp up is 100% better than that of the 9500i and the X50.
I glad I made the switch. As far as falses, y V1 is quiet, but considering I only have Ka on, everything else off (lucky to live in an island where they ony use Ka).
