Should I go to local stores and ask?

I have been wanting to do this whole hat cam and stuff. But that kinda fell through for now. However I thought about maybe doing some audio stuff.

Should I go to local stores and catch the audio of questions I ask.

What is a good radar detector?
What are the most used bands?
What is k band?
What is laser?

Just questions and see how they answer. Thought it might be kinda fun to compare what they say.

Stores: Radio Shack, Circuit City, Best Buy, Fry's, Car Toys and maybe a mom and pop store some where.

it'd be interesting to see who is full of the most BS in texas cause i doubt any of those fools will know anything.

my guess is at rat shack you'll get the biggest load of BS :lol: they try to act so technical but they dont know jack half the time :twisted: i would work there but u know :oops: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :wink:

I want to hear RadioShack responses more than anything.

Yeah, I am with you. I would like to hear what they have to say. I worked at radio shack a long time ago. I don't think I ever sold a radar detector and I didn't know a thing about em. I could tell you all you wanted to know about a scanner though.

So, what are some basic questions that someone would ask if they knew nothing. I have in my head what I would ask. I am really hoping to get someone who knows something and test his knowledge. :)

Yeah, I use to work at RS as well. Of course, we didn't sell RDs. But I have been to right many lately, and they don't know a lot. But for the most part, they admitted to not knowing. I appreciate that more then a lot of BS about how good Cobras are.

Well in your in luck to the whole admitting I don't know anything. I have been wanting to do this for a while. What prompted this was when I went to radio shack before I got a detector. I remember asking about them and they were trying to sell me one in a package on the wall. I thought ok some stores have these locked up and this one is only like 50 bucks and is on the wall so it must suck. I am not sure exactly what he was telling me about it at the time. But knowing what I know now I am going to go to one and ask some questions for the fun of it.

Ask if they have a radar detector that will detect "Ky" band :lol:

I can see it now. He says let me see.... Grabs the package and says no it only detects these 11 bands or whatever it is now
