Whats the deal with the rapid firmware updates?
I've been researchin getting a V1 for a few months now... and just when I am about to order, people are coming out of the woodwork with "E", KA-Band and other issues.
I just don't want to order the product.. and have to send it back within a matter of days because of issues. :?
P.S. - I am not interested in buying a X50, so please don't bring it up... thanks.

So, what are you asking?? Are you wanting opinions of forum members?? If that is the case, then you will get many recommendations for the X50. It's seems pretty close minded to say right out of the gate that you are not interested in the x50. I didn't used to be interested in the x50..I thought it was ugly...but since I gave it a try...I wouldn't have it any other way

I like the fact that the V1 has arrows (for one), plus being in NJ... lasers tend to be used more than in other states.

If laser is a major threat and you want to be protected against it get a good jammer. Don't rely on a RD to give you advanced warning because none of them are actually going to do that much more than 5% of the time.

I applaud you for doing the research!! (it took me 4 months to decide on the V-1, and I am very pleased!)
Some people have had an "E" message directly after the switch to the digital module.
Just get the thing already, you have already decided. And after months of research there is no changing your mind ( been there )
If your nit has a problem (Doubtful) send it back for a full refund if in 30 days, or take advantage of the 1-year warranty. you really can't go wrong. Just please buy it through the proper place. or you might get denied service. (another way v-1 tries to protect it's customers)
I decided on the V-1 because 99% of my driving is deserted state highways in the middle of Wisconsins northwoods! And it absolutley rocks, Many saves to date, I even had an alert to a KA-band, Instant-on, leo that lit a vehicle about a mile or more in front of me, (i could barely see the truck on a straight flat road) and I got 5 dots for about a second, That was all I needed to tap the brakes to disengage the cruise control, slid by the cop a minute or so later smiling and waving doing 55 on the nut! (GPS Speed) with the V-1 barking at full strength when he lit me up.
the nicest part about it is that I know what direction to expect the leo to be when I get an alert. No guessing at all. And anyone that tells you that the arrows are just a gimmick, has never used a v-1 in the open country.

Very nicely said. I purchased the V1 3.826 after reading and haveing people give me advise. All 3 were good but most people stated it really depended on my driving. X50 good for this, RX65 better in this and V1 best at this. Since most if not all my use was driving like your - major open roads from CALI to AZ (about 300 miles) I went with the V1. Most board members said it was best for open road and the arrow were a plus.
So that's what I ended up buying and have had no problems. I use it like I was told, "it is a tool" to help you stay out of trouble.
