Default Whats the deal with the rapid firmware updates?

I've been researchin getting a V1 for a few months now... and just when I am about to order, people are coming out of the woodwork with "E", KA-Band and other issues.

I just don't want to order the product.. and have to send it back within a matter of days because of issues. :?

P.S. - I am not interested in buying a X50, so please don't bring it up... thanks.

So, what are you asking?? Are you wanting opinions of forum members?? If that is the case, then you will get many recommendations for the X50. It's seems pretty close minded to say right out of the gate that you are not interested in the x50. I didn't used to be interested in the x50..I thought it was ugly...but since I gave it a try...I wouldn't have it any other way

I have the V1 3.851, it works great for me, not a single "e" ka detection works fine. It just seems not likely that "all" of the new V1's will have problems. You can do the 30 day test, if your unit has problems send it back to them and ask for your money back, as long as its close to the 30 days I'm sure VR will understand. You can also do a 30 day test with the X50, I don't know why you immediately say no to the X50 it really is a great RD, plus if you go red you will be saving $100, blue $50 or so. If you really want one get it, and if there are problems just send it back, all V1s don't have problems as some members would have you believe.

P.S. you cant say something like

I like the fact that the V1 has arrows (for one), plus being in NJ... lasers tend to be used more than in other states.

x50's have good laser detection, not as good as v1 but it's second best, but since you don't want any of them i recommend rx65, regardless i'm a little confused about what you're asking :?

If laser is a major threat and you want to be protected against it get a good jammer. Don't rely on a RD to give you advanced warning because none of them are actually going to do that much more than 5% of the time.

I've been following the other threads, and I keep seeing people jumping in recommending/taunting about the V1..

I dunno.. I kind of find it rude. :?

I recently bought a v1 after many years with escorts. I needed a new rd after my solo2 completely missed a radar trap pointed the other way (felt it should have picked up a reflection off of another car), got lucky and the officer left me go.

I did receive the "E" one time. Wasn't even that hot of a day. I was going in for an operation where I wasn't going to be driving for at least three months (right foot), so I called v1 and sent it in. Honestly if it wasn't for the operation and as long as the "E" didn't reappear I probably wouldn't have sent it in.

Even with the recent point releases of the v1 software I still think it's an excellent rd. One post on the board said that if you took a x50, rx65, and a v1 and put them in a bag, you probably couldn't tell them apart (except for physical differences). I do believe that, they're all good. At first I didn't think I'd like the arrows as much as I do. The bogey counter saved me once already.
