Im new to this forum, just looking around and seeing if anyone has problems with their 9500i.
Welcome to the forum. What problems have you had with your 9500i?
Welcome to the forum.
Two minor problems. Once in awhile it takes about 4 minutes to get a sat signal, I would say 2-3 times a month it takes about 15 minutes. It usually happens when I first go to start the car and leave in the morning. It happened 2 days ago, where I drove 15 minutes and the speed was still not displayed when I got home.
The other isnt really a problem but when I blow my horn the laser alert goes off (4 out of 5 times), it goes to full alert when I blow my horn and slowly stops when I let off.
Sounds odd. Curious if anyone else has experienced and addressed this? If you don't get a satisfactory idea from the group, you should ping Larry the escort rep for his perspective. May need to send it in for servicing.
It looks like your not the only one:

My ci picks up gps signal really quickly usually within 10 seconds of leaving garage. The ix can take up to 30 seconds.
I have found that mounting makes quite a bit of difference on how it picks up the GPS signal. Further down windshield is better than at very top in terms of GPS pickup. I place it just slightly lower than the rear-view mirror. Since the Maxima I use this in has a shallow windshield slope, this means the 9500ix has a fairly clear view upwards.

Hello, Im also new. I was given a 9500i as a gift for the holidays- we had shopped for it together and found it used. The device locks onto gps with no problem, and has picked up on patrol cars that are scanning from the side of the road. however, there are speedcameras off the freeway here that it fails to alert. So far none of the speedcameras off the highways have set off the detector.
Im starting to think that this particular RD is faulty and would probly just re-sell it on craigslist (same place we found it) and then get a new one. Is there a setting or something that Im missing to pick up the cameras off the highway?
How do you know they are speed traps?
Welcome, I had a 9500ix and after I started the car it would have a little trouble getting the gps signal on cloudy days only. Not sure why but after that it locked on.
I havent had any real issues with the gps; sometime it does lock on quicker than others but its never taken more than 2 mins tops
