Hi ya'll. I'm new on board.![]()
I'm looking for a RD, but don't know which to choose. Maybe you could help me.
I'm from Europe, so I need a RD with Ku band detection (although police in my country doesn't have Ku radars, but such are used in some other European countries and some day these Ku radars might appear here).
Police in my country uses laser guns mostly (about 95% of all speed measuring devices), there are still some (very few) old X band radars left, which are used in rural areas, photoradars are spreadding rapidly in cities and highways, but the biggest headache is new russian K band POP radars, which number is growing really fast. Speed can be measured both from stationary position or from moving cars (opposite and same direction moving modes) with the radar, it can be pluged to a laptop and it reads speeds of 4 cars at once! This is really scary.. Several of my friends already paid huge fines because of the radar (they have laser jammers and RDs installed, but RDs didn't give a single beep). I myself have a Target LT400 installed for laser protection (saved my butt many times) and I also have a very simple RD (guess, most of you haven't even heard of such a brand - Mongoose UB-180 MX), which i use very rarely (only when I go somewhere to province or in order to test which photoradars work). It detects only X and K bands..
So, as I already told, my biggest headache is these new POP radars :x Which RD would you recommend? I was thinking about Whistler XTR-425 or XTR-520 (these have Ku band and POP detection), but I'm not sure about their performance..
Thanks in advance..
P.S. Sorry for my English if I made some mistakes..![]()

Indeed, the American MPH Z-series "POP" K-band gun which uses a 16ms burst of radar is very difficult to detect.
But these "Berkuts" seem to be very appealing for our police: they are much cheaper than lidars and there are much more features and ways of use.
