Default Detector Modification: External KA antenna.

I have been lurking on this messageboard for a few days now, and have not seen any posts about wiring a larger gain, external, parabolic antenna/waveguide assembly to a detector. Has this been done before?

Not something that is commonly done, but the guys over at flitsservice have done it, for better warning against the weak Multanovas.
Some examples are HERE and HERE.

Yeah, but you could always put it concealed somewhere in a remote unit.

It's OK, you could hold it in your mouth instead. That should attrach plenty of attention.

    Psh.

All you need to do is duct tape your detector to your hood then add an oversized fin to the back or your car.

I was one of the users of the upgrade, I used it for the Bel 966 Europe (remote model) and the Bel 975

Detection distance improved up to 50/100 %

At the moment we don't use them anymore in Holland because of the Stalcar RDD, at the moment we use the RDD filter:

Do you know if the Remote+ (the rmeote.htm) one gives more warning, or the RDD filter has more warning?
