    Default Reusing old radar bands

today i was pondering a theory..in certain cities where the LEO's have moved up from x or k to ka and laser band by popular demand..and therefore in cetain cases people who own RD's may have turned off their alerts of x or k band due to it will juust either be speed signs or falses from stores or other detectors..couldnt the police be sneaky and secretly change to k band instant on guns for a just a short time because then people wouldnt really know what hit them??

In most cases it isn't too bright to turn off K-Band. But yeah, police could do something like that of they wanted to...

If they still had the guns in their posession and hadn't sold them off or something years ago. And if they were still operational... and properly maintained and calibrated (I hope...)

Well first of all turning off K band is kind of looking for a ticket, never turn K band off it is used by cops.

That they can "secretly" change to K band instant on yeah if they buy the radar guns or if they have it they can use it, but if you mean a Ka to K NO.

I'm sure they still use it (K band) and even X band is used because RD users turn it off or see it as a false.

Of course. But why bother? They are able to pull over MORE than enough people w/WHATEVER equipment they use because the large majority of people do not own RDs.

Waste our tax dollars by buying and/or maintaining tons of radar equipment and switching them to be "sneaky"... what a wonderful idea.

Not to mention your "theory" has been theorized by seemingly 20 other people on here over the past 2 weeks, so I apologize if I sound less than amused by this thread.
