heres a link to a wiring diagram for a RD and brake light switch. It also has Laser Jammer in it.. but you don't need that.

    Wiring Diagram

If I were doing that, I think I would switch the wire to the brake lights after the pedal switch.

what about the obvious nose dive, unless of course you throw in stiffer springs but most people hate them becasue of the harsh ride so the brake light thing is not usefull, what if someone rear ends you??!

Then you flip the switch back on, walk out and go 'Oh my, Oh my I don't think you should have done that', or fall out of your car screaming in pain saying 'omg omg it hurts' and then watch the cash roll in, as the person behind you was obviously following to closely.

I must say though I agree 'brake-light switches' were never meant to be used for the slowing-down purpose, they were meant to be used when running from the LEO's.

(MANY) were actually designed to cut off all of the rear lights (at night) including brake, so that you could have headlights on, and no tailights (making it harder for the LEO's to pursue), but not particulalry dangerous for oncoming traffic (as your headlights still lite the way... normally on low-beam). So if you had a rather well-tuned car and you saw lights pull out behind you... cut the rear-end lights, drop it from 6th to 3rd or even 2nd, and say good-byet to the pursuing officer.

...and the reconstruction shows the brake light filaments were NOT on when the bulbs were smashed, your car gets examined with a fine tooth comb and the switch is found and your attorney says, "I'm out of here."
    You're screwed.

Wow, it was a joke man... take it as such.

    On an off note though:

Not to mention recons can only go so far... we had a case around here a few years back where a kid in a truck, went into the back of an F250 (I believe it was that size), and the impact was so great the transmission from the kids truck, when it hit the truck abrubtly stopping, actually sent the (kids) transmission into the cab of the stopping F250... no brake filaments to be found there at all... and the F250's stereo was well... not a stereo anymore.

The guy in the F250 with the tranny 'sitting' next to him was fine... the kid who hit him, was not. Heck they had a hard time trying to find the LP's for the front/rear of each respective truck... I also think the trailer hitch was a rather tough find.

X2..... I know it can't be that good for my engine and transmission but I only use it when I get an Instant-on threat. Constant-on is no problem with the X50 because I always have time to brake before the LEO clocks my speed.
