What would it take to make a remote like the V1 for a V995?

I have a Passport 8500 laying around and would like to know what would it take to make a hidden remote like the V1 and adapt it to my V995? If it was able, what would be the best type of business to get it done?

The V1 has a communication bus specifically for that purpose, while the V995 does not.

In order to do something similar with the V995, you would have to tap into the connections for the LED display inside the detector and run them elsewhere in the vehicle to your display. Not really an elegant solution, but I've seen something like that done before...

Yeah definately doable, but you have to solder in a ribbon cable between the display and the board. I don't know how many conductors you are dealing with, maybe 12 or 28 or something like that. If you are good at it, you can do it easily, one member had his X50 display integrated into his radio display
