okay i have a question ... why if escort owns bel

would they have made the rx65 end up that much better in overall ka, and then the x50 better on laser.... i mean what happend there?? i would have thought since they were in fact escort buying bel the x50 should have or imo at least still come out on top.... does this make sense to anyone.. not a complaint just a thought. and if roy and everyone else including bel and escort ve spoken with have told me they are in fact the same "guts" and same antenna now.... what makes all the differences in the testing seen with both units.. and yes i know tests are tests.. but they do in fact show the real sens of a unit .. or at least for the most part i know real worl is different but if these are in fact the same units as everyone including the companies themselves say they are shouldnt these tests be much much closer between the two?? just doesnt make sense to me...

ive heard that Escort does own bel but keeps more of a hands off policy and lets them go about doing what they do while they [Escort] keep a big piece of the pie

Also, I believe that the rx-65 has "USA" mode in KA, to where it only sweeps the known Ka bands here in the US, there for spending less time on the rest of the band, giving you faster detection in KA.

As was stated above, the RX65's advantage on Ka is pretty much the USA mode setting.

Laser detection should be pretty similar between them now that they're both on revision 6.1.

In short, it looks like the gaps may be narrowing.

Not necessarily. If the companies are incorporated, escort might only hold say, 51% stock of bel. Thus "owning it" and having a say over business decisions, but they do not keep all the profit.
