Default Just need a little advice :) Please vote

Hi all, I want to buy a radar detector. I found these two brands. Please just tell me if number 1 or 2 is better for me. There are a lot of highways in NJ. Not sure if that info helps, but ok.

    Here are links!

    Thanks all!

PS I also read the guide for newbies .

Neither of those detectors will give you much protection. Stay away from cordless detectors! Their performance sucks.

Based on your selection, I'm guessing you don't want to spend a lot. However, if you can afford a little more I would recommend these:

    Bel Vector 940

    Whistler Pro 73

A few things first your not allowed to post other sites that sell radar detectors. 2nd the site you posted with the BEL says that it isn't an authorized dealer of BEL so why would you buy from them. Both detectors are bad quaility. Look around these forums. If you are on a real budget you can look at the BEL Vector series at radarbusters.com. If you can't spend at least a decent amount of money then all you are buying is a paper weight.

Huh? Have you ever used the Pro-73? It's an excellent RD and is no where near "bad quality"! Where did you learn this from? I suggest you go and read radar Roy's tests and go read all the success stories of the Pro-73.

As others will say yes it does false a little but so does the V1 if not a little worse and thats the #1 RD! It works excellent and has great range and is also great with laser.

If you don't have a lot of money but want great performance the Pro-73 is the way to go from Roy, or the Beltronics Vector 895.

The Whistler Pro 73 and the Bel Vector 940 are great Budget detectors.
I would say these are the best mid range detectors out there. If you
decided that you can spend more and go with the Best, I would choose
from these three. Escort 8500 X50, Valentine One, or Bel RX65.
Of the Top 3, I have only owned an X50 and I am very happy with it.

As far as The Whistler, I have heard very good things about it. It does
false a bit but so does the V1. You can't go wrong with any
of these listed about. I would like to say that the Bel Vector 940 doesn't
have selectable bands so if that's important to you, you should choose the
    Bel Vector 995.

Make sure you buy it from Roy, he will make sure your happy unlike
best buy or another dealer. It's always nice to have that one on one
interaction with someone your buying from.

carter840 was refering to the original two detectors in the poll. He's not talking about the Pro 73.

The Pro-73 does have POP mode but depending on where you live it might not be used by the LEOs in your area so it would be safe to turn it off.

How do I find out if they use POP?

Is it bad to leave POP on if they don't use it?
