Default whistler xtr 220/ 560 for vancouver BC?

would you guys recommend either of these models for my location? or should i look into something else? im currently 17 and am not a real speeder, however, my dad just got a ticket for going 3 KM over the speed limit. Its close to $400 for the ticket and its quite a lot, so we want to prevent this in the future.

Some links i found indicating what bands are used, and we are mostly around the west side of vancouver. I found they used a few bands of laser as well as radar.

    http://www.radardetector.net/British...aps-17124t.php
also a quote i found, credit to go.mouse for the BC area
Canada - British Columbia (GVR) (Thanks go.mouse)

Burnaby - K, Ka, Laser (Ultralyte)
Delta - Ka, Laser (Marksman, Laser Atlanta)
North Vancouver - K, Ka, Laser (Ultralyte)
Richmond - K, Ka, Laser (Marksman, Laser Atlanta)
Surrey - K, Ka, Laser (LTI Marksman, Ultralyte, Laser Atlanta, PL III)
Vancouver - X, K, Laser (Ultralyte, Marksman, Stalker LZ1, Laser Atlanta)
(ALL Ka are Kustom Golden Eagle series)

what does this all mean that i should look for in a radar detector, and would it be a good move to buy the xtr 220/ 560 when we go to bellingham? (lower price there). would it provide full detection in vancouver? or is it lacking in sensing some band? thanks for all your help.

Well with $400 tickets for 3km over the limit you might want to spend money on a detector that will absolutely save you like the BEL rx65, Escort 8500 x50, BEL STi, or Valentine 1. You could spend a bit less on the BEL v995, or BEL v895 and get similar but not the same performance of those in the top 4

    Spoiler: show

    Radar Detectors-V1 & BEL v995
    Laser Jammer-Laser Interceptor Quad
    GPS Camera Locator-Cheetah C100
    GPS Nav-Garmin nuvi w/Trapster
    CB Radio-Galaxy DX-949 w/Wilson 500
    Scanner-RS Pro-96

3 km/h... I'd like to see THAT hold up in court.

we are gonna try and fight it, but there is still a high risk the judge will rule against us. The trial/ hearing is in about 2 months, so i guess we can deal with that then. I know its outrageous, but there is no way to prevent it without a real good radar detector =p.
