    Ka or POP

either one can come up, but POP is more common of a false from these things

K, Ka, POP, and occasionally a full-strength KA alert.

On my Whistler 1793 which according to most tests gets a range of like 70% of your units or so, I can pick out my Cobra XRS-9400 from around a 3-5 car radius on K false, 2 car radius on Ka false, and only if they're driving beside me do I get a full-strength KA false from time to time (once it did scare the crap outta me because I was going like 10 above the limit)

With the XRS models, falsing can be nearly eliminated except for the close-range full-strength KA alert if VG-2 detection is turned off (directions are in their manual, different for each model), so if you know anyone with such Cobra products get them to shut off their VG2!

    LOL

Ive only had Ka on mine(non full strength so far) usually around 33.5ish in Spec mode. Usually 2-3 car radius.

Well, some detectors have special alerts for when a radar signal suddenly appears at decent strength.... Whistlers for example say "PULSE" then sound a very rapid Ka alert tone that definitely gets the adrenaline pumping

Usually the K/Ka drone caused by their VG2 algorithm will mask the Ka spikes but when VG2 is deactivated or that drone is filtered out, the Ka spikes do shine through.

what bands have the guys with v995's gotten? I'm wondering because yesterday I was driving down I-57 in IL and had Ka alert ramp up on me as a minivan with regular Indiana license plates (def. not a LEO) got closer. I'm 95% sure the minivan was causing the alert as it was strongest when the van was next to me and then died as he passed me and moved away. There were No LEO's around. Unfortunately I didn't notice whether or not there was a radar hanging from the windshield. Thanks for any info.
