Default False Alerts Verus Real Alerts

How does a radar detector pick an alert if theres 2 @ the same time. I travel a path daily to work that falses X alert on 2 strength than full right when i get over a rail road track. One day while i was getting close to this X area i noticed it alerted me of "K" band at this spot which was were someone was pulled over being ticketed. Im guessing the LEO left his detector on while giving the citation.

How did the detector block the false X alert through the whole (false x area) and alert me of the real K alert?

Well with my x50.. I cant set it on a mode so that i can see ALL the bands at the same time. But right now I do not have it set on that mode, and if it picks up one band, once it picks up the other, right away it shows you. That way, though it wont show you both meters on your RD.. you will know they are both around there.

I see you have a 940, as do I. I think it alerts to the most threatening alert. As K would be more threatening than X usually. It seemed to work well since it did alert you of the leo. So it didnt recognize the X as a false, it just made you aware of the leo.

Interestingly, most of my false alerts are K-band, as Stalker would know all to well. It's often hard to get an idea what's up ahead when you get a warning, so i just back off until i'm 100% sure it's ok.

I'm not familiar with your unit but i know Bel equips there detector with prioritizing alerts. Meaning even if you get both bands with same signal strength, the K and alert tone overrides the X band alert tone.

    Azonehits is correct.
All of Belcorts detectors have a prioritizing hierarchy alert structure .

    Ka overrides K

    K overrides X.

    Laser overrides all radar bands.

    basso,
Just wanted to let you know I did read your post but Escort engineered the detector in the way that Azonehits and I have stated.

For instance: if you were traveling down the road and encounter a K band hit then 100 feet later another officer hits you with X, the X would not register unless you were in ' Expert Mode '. For some reason, I believe that the v940 doesn't have this feature ( Expert Mode ) but I could be wrong. K will always override X in all circumstances. Now if you travel far enough out of the officers K range but your still in the range of the X officer The detector will pick up the X alert.

Just wanted you to know that your post was read but this is the case with the detectors engineering.

yeah we dont have that feature and i did say that k will be shown instead of x because it is more threatening, which is what you are saying too.
