    Default All Done

I am all done buying Belscort products. Their little BS deal they got going on with Craig Peterson is enough to make me puke. And to top it off when you buy a new Belscort RD you got a 50/50 chance the thing is F'd up from the factory.

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but it appears if you have a problem and call them up they will act like politicians and tell you what you want to hear to shut you up.

What brought this all on is the Beltronics website. They have the hyperlink to Craig Peterson's V1 vs STI test displaying how much better the STI is then the V1. It is purely BS. I am not the biggest V1 fan by all means but at least with Valentine you know that you are in good hands if your detector has a problem. Belscort doesn't give a damn. All they care about is the money that you give them.

That's a real shame. A company with good products but crap service.

    There's always Whistler!

So you aren't buying Belscort anymore, you sent back one of the better versions of the V1 (3.826), which didn't have the glitches the new ones do... so you probably wont be buying one of them either...

Stealthcb looks like he HAS to go with whistler, if he still wants solid detection? (Not to mention I have heard nothing but top-notch customer service from them, many even say better then VR).

Thats too bad aaseavey, I would say buy from Roy for Belscort, because he will take care of you should anything go wrong, but as we know some company took over... and I am unsure of their CService.

I would like to state what I am about to say below is my opinion and my opinion only.

Yeah, their deal is pretty sad. Last year CP reviewed the x50 vs v1. He claims the x50 was the winner.

Following year- Escort comes out with the STi, yet he still tests it against the v1.

Why not test it against against the "winner" of last years test?

Bel, or at least Belscort. (Don't worry Sethy, I am tired as all heck when I type this stuff too, and I also rush it, so I understand the mistake). 8)

He's limiting himself to Whistler, V1, or Cobra....Oh, and there's RMR, at least for now. Bet their customer service is...nonexistent.

Sethy I was going to add that too but I was trying to limit my paragraph.

Either way gents, I am waiting patiently for Valentine to fix some issues. Until then I will still use my 4.5 RX65. I never said I wouldn't use, just wouldn't buy another.

The problem with the radardetector world is ignorance. Belscort see's Cobra as the # 1 selling brand with much worse RD's. Thus, Belscort just wants to get their RD's out the door to sell with disregard to quality. IMO this is why quality is on the crappy side with Belscort. What do you all think?

I have not owned a BEL product since Escort purchased them. I felt they were good back then. Seems that today their products are very hit or miss.

I'd like to see BEL reduce their model lineup from 7 down to 3 or 4 quality feature priced models.

    I guess some people have better luck than others. For me I've owned 2 Bel 985's, 2 8500's, 3 x50's, 1 rx-65, 2 9500i's & 1 STi and none have ever given me a problem.

Until you have something catch on fire on you at the end of the day there's nothing to worry about. *cough* valentine. not to mention I had 3 give me the dreaded "E"...

oh lets not forget about the beta testing days from 3.821 to 3.826.

My experiences are complete opposite of Staton's. I have owned a V1 since 1995 and never had one go bad on me. In fact the ONLY issue I have ever had was one that I bought off Ebay and it was out of tune. On the other hand I had to return an X50, 2 RX65, and an STI for self cal and service required issues. As far as Whistler goes they have TOP NOTCH CS
RIP Duncan my BELOVED black lab son 8/7/99-3/23/11. I will miss you DEARLY.
