    Default whistler 1788 or beltronics express 795 for a good backup

    I went to radioshack this morning and I saw both of these detectors on sale for $60 manergers special. I currently have an rx65, which one of these would you buy for a good backup. Are these detectors any good at all.

    a good 795 is hard to beat for the money. do prepare to swap it out a couple times until you find one that is good.

    You have got to be kidding me, the 795 did about as well as the Escort Solo S2 which means it sucks.

    the one they used might have sucked but some have been known to overperform. its not like he gave us many options eithor. search and you shall see.

    i had a factory freak 795, i should have kept it. it is true that it is very hit or miss with the 795's. i don't have any experience with whistler so i have no idea.
