Beltronics Rx-65 vs V1

Ok well i purchased a STI from beltronics 8 days agao and on the 4 day after recieving it i ran into cop running 33.8.

Well here is an update. My STI was in "TEch Mode" and as a i was headed down a long hill i get a weak 33.8 hit with my friends X50. Not a peep with with the STI. Note that the cop was using CO on the other side of the hill. I then turned off the X50 and turned the STI off for 5 seconds "to reset" then turned back on and went toward the cop and still no alert. I then turned my friends X50 on and it Alerted...

Welll i guess there is still a 33.8 bug all the way up to units produced the 26th week of 2007!

So my STI was returned today and i was looking between an RX-65 or V1(refurb unit)

So i know my main threats are Texas State Troopers running 34.7(Which Rx-65 owns) and K-band(which V1 owns).

Which unit should i buy?????

V1. Have you tried the X50? I love that detector

I've had both and I'd go with the V1.

Yeah twice. i loved my Rev 5. Then i made the mistake of selling it and got a rev 6.1. Which never alerted to Ka-band 34.7 and got me a ticket.

i have a 6.1 rx65 and my dad has a v1 .826, i think that if the v1 didn't have the arrows and rear antenna than i would get the rx65 but i think that my next detector would be a v1 just because of the sensitivity. plus i steal my dad's v1 whenever i get a chance

. though it is said that the new 6.3 rx65's laser is similar to that of the v1.

but if i was you i'd get a v1 :wink:

Hookem, looking at your sig it seems you've owned just about everything there is... so draw from your prior experience. But in my experience, V1 is best overall. RX65 is weaker on K, X50 allegedly weaker on Ka (depending on which rev. you get), but either of these are quieter in town than a V1.

Just called V1 and got a refurb unit and remote display. Should ship out today and arrive tuesday..... She said it came with a 30 day return policy and 1 year factory warranty... I think after my set back on the STI im going to stick with the V1 till something comes out that is the detector of all detectors.....

I loved my V1's but i just thought they were a lil ugly. But hey i have never been upset with it performance.....
