Default My Trip Through Virginia Using the x50

I didnt get one alert period all the way through VA, I was on U.S. 23 and I used it at night, not during the day. It was weird, I thought I would get alot of Constant On Hits.

Here is my setup lit up, I placed the suction cups behind the wiper blades considering it was about 10pm outside and no way could you see over the dash of an expedition anyway from a crown vic:

This is it at night, as you can tell I put tape over the "HD" L.E.D on my x50 to where no light could be saw:

By HD do you mean the display? You know there is an "all" dark mode, right? Or do you mean the bright power LED on the power chord?

The mode that just leaves "HD" on the screen, even with an alert. Thats what I kept it on. It worked though

IN dark mode this detector stills display AD,HD,CD (depeds what mode the RD is in). At lease thats how it works on my RX65. Thse Sti is the only RD i know that has a true dark mode.

Yep, you are correct carter840. The X50 works in the same manner as the RX65.

ELVATO is correct. I just checked and the X-50 does have an all dark mode. It can be enabled in the program mode.

^ Yep, brothers aradarnut and ELVATO are both right on the money - it's under the Programming menu, option "DARK ALL."

This is a "true" all-dark mode.

yeah, X50 is a "TRUE DARK" detector, no illuminated screen, and no illuminated buttons, just the smartcord alert LED and audio......... I use all dark as a standard setting
