Well, I guess it's there to get you used to the sounds it makes. Just wonder why Bel stopped that feature on the M4 platform.
Not sure, with most RDs with voice alerts now that tell you what's going on I can see why you wouldn't really need it anymore. Although if you really want to annoy someone in your car just toss your whistler into teach mode
YouTube - Whistler Pro 73 Teach Mode
The STD power up is enough to teach you the sounds it makes.

True but the self test on power up doesn't give you the SWS sounds.

Have you ever seen SWS in use? I have not. I travel 40-50k miles per year in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin and have never encountered SWS in use.

I personally do not feel the tutorial is a make it or break it feature. Even if SWS is in use, it spells it out pretty clearly whats going on.

No because there are no "new" features added to the M4

Have you called Belscort to complain about the removal of the tutorial mode? Perhaps they will elaborate on their reasoning for removing such a critical feature.

I'll make sure they recall all of their M4 units to add the tutorial mode. We need that to become more familiar with our radar detector alerts.
