Hi. I'm looking for my first radar unit. I'll be doing a lot of driving on I-75 between Findlay and Toledo. I know OHP is thick through here. Anyone drive this stretch often with ideas? I just got nailed north of Bowling Green. Thanks.

How much money are you looking to spend is the real question?
Essentially any of the following are considered to be in the 'high-end' Spectrum: (Please note that the least expensive is the X50Red @ $300 and the prices go up from there).
X50
Sti
V1
9500i
RX65
Sti-R
9500ci
(The last 2 units are remote units, and are much more expensive. The 9500ci hasn't even started to ship yet, they are still taking pre-orders and this will be mated with the ZR4, the newest Escort Laser Jammer[shifter].)
Ohio: Laser, X IO, K IO, prevalence in that order.
If you don't want to be nailed in Ohio, get a detector with excellent sensitivity and ramp-up on X and K (any of the top 3 should suffice) and get a laser jammer.
My 2 cents here... get a good one...
I drive this regularly and get hit with moving IO X band by OSHP all the time.Originally Posted by nrhazen
As jdong stated you absolutely need a detector with superior X and K band detection. Spend the $ and go either V1 or 9500i.
Also, never, and I mean never, go over PSL in Ohio without a rabbit. If your the only one on the road, you will get nailed. It's a matter of time.
Thanks for the info guys. LordV what is a rabbit? I'm sure it's not a Sex and the City reference. Thanks.
I live near the I-75 corridor in Southern Ohio and V1 alerted me to X Band about two days ago, it was the Highway patrol. The laser jammer will end up being a must for your area. Also, might want to put a black bra on your car and a laser shield license plate cover on the front of your car.Originally Posted by jdong
As far as what is a rabbit? Easy, it is a careless speeder :P - in most cases - who has a profound belief that no matter how fast he / she goes barreling down the interstate, there are unseen forces shielding him / her from being spotted by a LEO. The idea is to get behind one, 1/2 mile behind or so, so they get the attention of the LEO first. Thus, taking the first burst of radar / laser and giving you a fighting chance to slow down.
As an added bonus, watching them soil themselves when they realize that thier shield was just a fantasy makes it worth driving behind them - oh the entertainment factor !
As suppose to running rabbit, which is a phenomenon where you and the other drivers who are in the pack you are in, take turns running point, so everyone gets a chance at being the gimp - rabbit  .
I say V1 and a laser jammer. My V1 is definitely hotter on X band than my 9500i. Since X band is your most likely radar encounter and that wouldn't seem to be an area of very many false alerts, the V1 would seem to be your best bet.
As explained above...Definitely not a Sex and the City reference My wife enjoyed that oneOriginally Posted by nrhazen
I hated that stupid show. My girlfriend at the time told me that I was a lot like Mr Big(partly correct anyhow). I would get home and be scrutinized for what that dude did on a friggin' TV show!Originally Posted by LordV
