    Default Speed signs..

Can someone explain to me if some speed signs are more direct of a beam than others?
I encountered one today thats around a sharp corner on the highway (either K or Ka I forget). I got 0 warning in my 9500i until it was in direct view. Normally I get scattered alerts before I'd get to a sign. This seemed odd to me, and when I tried the route again, same deal...and there was enough other cars ahead that I would've thought it had some things to deflect off of.

That is very strange. Here in Houston I usually have at least 4 seconds warning around the curve when it is facing off into something non relfective.

its this specific sign I think. the original 9500i I had did the same thing, but this was the only sign that did it.

It's probably out of tune and the freqs have shifted.

so what does that do if its out of tune and the frequencies have shifted? How does that affect how my detector picks it up?

A lot of speed signs are low powered and angled downwards to only get the first car traveling towards it, not the second car or cars receding.

If the sign is out of tune it could be on a frequency that any RD would have a tuff time picking up.
K band is 24.050 through 24.250 so if the sign is running at 24.251 you will get a minimal alert, if not nothing at all.
Also some signs are very low powered, or don’t use conventional radar at all.
