This was hilarious!

People around here don't understand the highbeam as the modern version of turning your lights on and off -- at least in Canada, headlights are always on on modern cars.
So I gave up, thinking "let 'em get their own radar detector!"
If they're right up my tail pipe when I brake, however, I point with my finger. One guy was so grateful to me, he was about to go around me when he figured out what I meant -- saw the photoradar van.
So I'm not completely selfish. But almost.
I don't. All it does is draw attention to you and drawing attention is likely the last thing you want to do. And giving warning is illegal in some places. Drivers need to pay attention and watch out for themselves. I let others draw attention and maybe get the tickets. Not my business or problemm Mind my own business.
Might sound selfish but I just don't give warnings.
Hear here!
;-)
I don't worry about warning others. If they invest in a RD or jammers as I have they would be prepared for speeding.
I still say if the bright red sports car suddenly brakes and slows 20+ MPH the smart thing would be to slow down, not blow past him.
That would be a glaring indication that something's up. Miss that hint, and you deserve what you get plus a good scoffing to go with it.
A few weeks after I moved to Franklin, Tennessee (from TX) I heard on the local news that a guy from Franklin had been arrested by a town cop for flashing his lights to warn other motorists of a speed trap. The basis of the charges was for interfering with a law officer in the line of duty.Quote:
And giving warning is illegal in some places.
He appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court on the basis that flashing his lights was an exercise of his freedom of speech. The Court agreed and charges were dropped.
My brake lights should be enough warning. I don't like to draw attention to my car. 'Nuff said
