I agree as well, there are numerous surrounding states with similar geographic features where you can compare and contrast different RD's in (literally) thousands of videos on youtube and other sharing sites.


What is more important then videos of RD's in your area is what LEO's use in you area... and picking the appropriate countermeasures from that.

I have driven through Illinois fairly recently (last year from NY) and can tell you they work exceptionally well against your highway patrol (troopers)? The CB is also an invaluable tool out there as well (or it was for me).


As for Chicago (my destination), I never got much if any action from LEO's speeding-wise, me thinks they were actually pre-occupied with real crime?


Illinois is a fairly forgiving place for radar detectors...

While it is not rare for someone to post vids from their area it is very rare for a question such as yours. I post videos that are specific to AZ and surrounding states all the time.

You have very few posts and we don't know who you are. Someone that works for the media or a commercial entity such as Redflex with interests in showing a need for more speed regulation via robo cop speed cameras or maybe even following suit with VA in outlawing RDs all together, would have a great interest such as yours.

Post a while. Let us see who you are.

i see where your comming from, but yet alot of people posting up videos all over the net showing there radar detector performances, and test from allover the U.S an other countries, so why is there none from here, where people can get idea before they buy product dont make sense to me, hell people posting videos of them shooting guns is that crime or you just way to paranoid.

That is basically why you got the first response you did...

For example LJ are illegal there, so if you are a state-LEO you could come after anyone using jammers in your state in the videos. We have had members come under the interest of law enforcement before, so we generally take precautions now (ie: You can't see certain sections/imgs etc...) for a certain number of posts.

There need be no videos in you state, geographically (much) is similar to IN, MA, MO, OH etc...

Go to youtube watch the videos, and hit the pause button when you get to a street sign, there's been many videos posted to youtube from IL.

Geography is nothing special in IL, and much of the enforcement is lazy (as it can be with the plethora of arrogant speeders here), so if you find stuff on youtube from other states it'll probably be examples of more effective tactics in more difficult terrain, that show a better representation of the limits of a particular countermeasure.
