Default RD disguised as a GPS bracket/holder

Found this somewhere on the net....

Coincidentally I did previously write to one RD maker suggesting this kind of disguise but nobody seriously took up that idea.....someone else beat them to that.

This unit marked as "Radar Laser Detector Model RD04". Don't know how effective it could be in terms of detection. Wished that my current RD took that form so it would not be so obvious on the windshield.

I think that's the next gen RD. A navigator RD flat screen interface. If they're smart they'll bundle them separately and market them together.

Uniden? Why do I think I remember Uniden talking about bringing something out like this. Mind you, this was at least 3 years ago...

I even suggested that the RD be integrated with the GPS into a single unit so that a more comprehensive display could be administered in a single package. If the tech is good enough, it might even show on the GPS display, the actual location of the source threat (or approx location?).

That would definitely look like a simple aircraft radar situational awareness display unit. Even suggested that the confirmed detected threat be broadcasted by the combo RD/GPS to friendly units thru GSM / mobile carrier and that data stands valid for 24 hrs before expiry. In that way the RD could become an intelligent networks of RD detectors that help each other out of trouble.

It might seem a little ambitious and complicated though. But maybe someday it could be feasible and cost viable.

Good idea, but then, it is only needed in one state. (Well, I guess for Canada as well)

Good plan but you could have a mobile data base that cataloged alerts and gave instant updates to drivers where there is abundant activity in a given coordinate. Really the options are endless. But of course all of this can be defeated by a simple stop watch. lol
