Laser or a lone wolf target for I/O. More than likely Laser.
Tell your brother not to feel bad; ALL RD's have problems detecting Laser (and yes, even the V1)
It they are shooting Laser a lot now up there, you might consider getting a Jammer.

The Laser Interceptor is the best laser jammer out there. Nothing else is close.
