Default How far away from RD+GPS+network technology are we?

I see the future of RDs like this: GPS companies make their own RDs (by buying Belscort/MV/Whistler), which connects to a GPS unit via a cord (or wireless eventually). All of this information is shared with other drivers that use the same system. Areas with LEO activity in the last hour, as well as common speedtraps are indicated on the GPS map (although differently).

The RD would be able to filter out all falses because the GPS unit would share actual false frequency info. An integrated bogey counter would assure that a LEO wasn't sitting under the false source using the same frequency.

Well basicly we are already there. In other parts of the world they have active databases that users manually update to for KNOWN photo traps. The technology is still considered in an infancy stage due to only the relative slow update of information.

Combined that with on the go wirless internet connectivity and add to that a community of users inputting LIVE real time activity of LEO either stationary or on the move and you have one hell of a system. The options/software configurations are endless!!! The flow and exchange of such a system would be devastating to LEO's as everyone would know, but, and this is the big BUT, inorder for one to know that a LEO is around the corner, there has to be a user to tell you, and not have a community of users just sitting back and leeching off the system.

Think of it like file shareing... P2P... a community actively sharing information. But if someone drops the ball your toast. MLK said he has a dream, well we all have our dreams too.

ive been running GPS for years...soon you will see GPS + Radar all in one (not like the old unidens) infact a company already has a unit that uses GPS with a laser jammer, when you aproach a known laser trap area the jammer activates and begins jamming via the GPS location.

God doesnt anyone ever remember Pimp My Ride!! They put that in like 95% if all the cars they did, the only draw back is, the install, talk about a wireing nightmare!!

and I dont know how good the detection is!!

I just did a quick look at Drivesoft, and it doesn't look like any of their systems incorporate a radar detector. They appear to offer laptop mobile Wifi connections, and television systems, but that's all that I saw.
